Lack of maintenance is not only an appearance issue: it can accelerate wear and create unsafe working conditions.
Why maintenance matters
Build-up of oil, chips, sawdust and other residues can create airborne particles, slippery surfaces and a difficult work environment for operators.
For the machine, deposits can cause mechanical jams, premature wear, increased axis resistance, wear of guides and transmissions, and blocked ventilation. Oil or coolant reaching electrical components and rubber parts can promote corrosion, poor contacts and short-circuit risk.
Preventive maintenance costs less than unplanned downtime.
Periodic inspection can reveal small problems before they become failures.
